Flipkart Collaborates with HP, Intel and Microsoft

Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce marketplace, has collaborated with top brands in the personal computing space – HP, Intel and Microsoft to offer consumers a unique proposition – wherein they will be able to buy a HP Intel® Core™ i3 Windows 10 laptop with a consumer price of INR 36,000, for as low as INR 999 per month.  By availing a 36-month EMI option, an industry first; on Flipkart, consumers will be able to buy a full-fledged laptop from HP, powered by a 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i3 Processor, and Windows 10 OS.

This collaboration is the companies’ effort to tap college students and first-time PC buyers. Flipkart has also partnered with ICICI Bank and CitiBank to provide hassle-free financing options to consumers.

The initiative enhances Flipkart’s wide selection of laptops curated for its current Back to College campaign, popularly known as ‘Lap It Up’, which offers the best deals and selection to students who form a sizeable chunk of its customer base. Having a lion’s market share of laptops in the country, Flipkart is the preferred go-to retailer for laptops across price points and tech configurations. The laptop category is the 3rd largest category on Flipkart and is growing more than 30% YoY against the industry growth of approximately 5%. The Back to College campaign itself has seen a 30% increase in sales of laptops since its launch reinforcing Flipkart’s undisputed market leader position in this category across both online and offline channels. Pioneering consumer financing options such as No Cost EMI and Doorstep Product Exchange have seen great customer adoption leading to a spike in sales to the tune of close to 30%.
