A new smartwatch is about to rise from the horizon. A sneak-peek from Noise on Amazon India’s online store points at a fresh new offering, the Colorfit Nav.

A teaser, on Amazon’s microsite, shows brand ambassador Rohit Sharma holding a ball and his left hand conspicuously donning the new smartwatch – Train with GPS, and it’s coming soon’, it says. According to the teaser, the new ColorfitNav will join Noise’s league of square shaped wearables, the Colorfit Pro and Colorfit Pro 2. A ‘Notify Me’ button will keep fans notified about the launch date, as it nears.

The teaser also gives out information about a new feature add-on – built-in GPS, and thus the moniker ‘Nav’.

A higher resolution display is also mentioned. This means that while physical dimensions seem the same, the display could boast a much higher pixel density. Higher resolution means better readability and crisper text and graphics. Interestingly, there’s also some information about a new option to customise watch faces – the Colorfit Nav will supposedly come with customisable and cloud-based watch faces. While the customisable watch faces will be available at launch, cloud-based faces will be available via an OTA update in the coming weeks, subsequent to the launch.

The exact release date hasn’t been revealed yet. A few rumours online state that the new smartwatch will arrive during first week of August. However, we’re awaiting final confirmation from the brand itself.

Design-wise, the Colorfit Nav looks almost identical to its previous generation – the Colorfit Pro 2 – with its square display, but a second button has been added to the watch.

As far as features are concerned, we assume that the display will probably get a bit more real estate, pushing the bezels further towards the rims, giving it a sleeker look and more pixels to play with – which means more characters displayed within notifications and more detailed watch complications. Noise mentions a 1.4 inch colour LCD full-touch display – compared to the previous generation’s 1.3 inch screen – and we know such fine margins can make a big difference, when it comes to smartwatches.

As expected, the watch will boast complete health and activity tracking, which includes ten sports modes. 24/7 heart rate and sleep monitoring sensors are also a part of the package – as these have become a must-have for every smart wearable enthusiast out there. Additionally, the smartwatch is reported to come with ID, text and social media notifications and music playback control.

Just as Noise’s previous models, the Nav too will feature a super-light, impact-resistant polycarbonate shell with IP68 water, dust and sweat resistance. We have confirmation that the Nav will come in at least two different colours.

The Colorfit Pro 2 could last for about a week without needing to be charged. This time, due to having the GPS functionality built-in, we expect Noise to have either increased the battery capacity or made the software more energy efficient.

The new ColorfitNav will arrive with an enhanced and expanded arsenal of feautures – so expect a marginally higher price. To recall, the Colorfit Pro 2, which is the current premium smart wearable from Noise, is priced at Rs 3,499.

The Colorfit series houses affordable smartwatches for the masses, while Noise’s premium range of round-dialled wearables lie under the ‘NoiseFit’ label, with Fusion, Evolve Sport and Evolve, starting from Rs 5498.
